Acne Tips

"Does drinking lots of water get and help my skin stay clear?"

I recommend drinking 8 glasses (64 oz) of water per day in conjunction with the eXposed program. This combination has worked better for me than any other that I have tried.

Vicki - California

Drinking water alone will not clear up your acne, however it is essential for clean skin and your overall health. Water is essential for carrying waste material out of your body. Water is also the primary transporter of nutrients throughout your body. If not enough water is consumed, toxins can build up and promote breakouts. Water helps flush these toxins out.

"How often should I wash my sheets and pillowcase?"

I have found that changing my bedding, especially my pillowcase, every few days has helped my skin stay clear. I also saw a huge difference when using the eXposed program just before getting into bed instead of a couple hours before bed.

Jeff - New York

When sleeping, oils and dead skin cells tend to collect on your sheets and pillowcases. These substances can find their way back onto your skin, clogging pores and often resulting in acne flare ups. Changing your bedding regularly can help alleviate this problem.

"When should I wash my face?"

In addition to using eXposed in the morning and at night, I have noticed that washing my face immediately after working out is very helpful in staying clear. I try to wash my face within 15 minutes of working out.

Mark - Washington

Keeping your skin free from pore clogging cells and oil is important to a clear complexion. Washing your face whenever there is a build up of pore clogging materials including just after intense physical activity is recommended. However, washing your face to frequently or vigorously may result in over-drying and irritation.

"Does makeup make my acne worse?"

I recently switched from a heavier makeup to a lighter and less oily version. This has helped my skin tremendously. I apply my makeup over the Daytime Acne Serum and have reduced my blemishes by over 90%. It feels great to use a lighter foundation and no longer to hide my blemishes with a heavier application.

Sarah - Arizona

Heavy foundation makeup should be avoided. Most acne patients should select powder blushes and eye shadow over cream products because they are less irritating and noncomedogenic. Look for "noncomedogenic" cosmetics and toiletries. These products have been formulated so that they will not cause acne.
